The artificial intelligence subfield known as “generative AI” has drawn a lot of interest because of its capacity to produce new content by using data that already exists. A feature of generative AI models is their ability to produce new data, including text, photos, audio, video, and even code, in contrast to standard AI models which are mostly focused on classification, prediction, or decision-making. There are several uses for this technology, ranging from helping in industries like marketing, entertainment, and healthcare to automating creative processes.

How Generative AI Works

Neural networks and other machine learning techniques are commonly used in the construction of generative AI models. Transformer-based models like GPT (Generative Pretrained Transformers) and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) are two of the most popular architectures used in generative AI.

  • GANs: Introduced by Ian Goodfellow and his team in 2014, GANs consist of two networks — a generator and a discriminator. The generator creates new data, while the discriminator evaluates whether the data is real or generated. Through this adversarial process, the generator improves its ability to create realistic data over time.
  • Transformer-based Models: Transformers…
