Burnout is something that many of us would encounter in the course of our work as software developers. Whether you just started coding five months ago or have been doing so for five years, there is always a point in time when the fun that came with writing, being immersed in the art of, and enjoying code seems to come to a halt. That feeling of enjoyment, the wanting to chase the intricacies of the puzzles, and the pride in creating something all by oneself can at some point be overtaken by weariness, irritation and in a more serious case, apathy.

I have experienced it myself as well. It’s a far cry from those early days when coding for an entire night was nothing short of a thrill and a joy for me. However, when I started to come to terms with myself that I was trudging my way through every single code line, my mind knew that let it be changed. Unfortunately, to get out of the rut of burnout one has to be in the mood for programming again and it takes quite some time. In this article, I would like to propose some techniques which proved useful for me and can prove useful for you as well.
